KAS Catering

KAS Catering is King Alfred’s own catering team, providing high quality catering services for students, staff and visitors. With a 5* rating and a reputation for outstanding food and service you can be assured that we offer excellent value for money.

There are two catering outlets within the school:

The Café (B Block)

The café opens at 8.15am for breakfast – freshly cooked bacon rolls and hot chocolate are favourite choices!

A wide range of hot and cold food and drinks are available at morning break and at lunchtime a three choice main meal option and a variety of snacks, salads and cold food are on offer. Food is prepared on the premises each day using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. See Menu and Tariff link below for full details.

SnackShack (A Block)

The SnackShack opens during morning break and lunchtime, selling sandwiches, toasties, rolls, baguettes, soup, cakes, drinks and a hot ‘Dish of the Day’.

Catering Statement
King Alfred School Catering would like to reassure pupils, staff, parents and carers that we are satisfied the food cooked and sold in school is not at risk of contamination with horsemeat.
Our beefburgers are made by our butcher, Reasons Quality Meats of Pawlett, from locally sourced and traceable beef.
We only use fresh meat, supplied by Reasons, in our menu dishes, which are all prepared and cooked from raw ingredients, on site.
