Partnership with Clevedon Learning Trust

The Governing Body of The King Alfred School has decided to complete the conversion of the School into an Academy as part of the Clevedon Learning Trust (CLT) on the 1st September 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter, having considered the feedback and views received in response to the public consultation.

This is exciting news for our school and our community.

Megan and Holly Richards Swimming Achievement - Update

We would like to share with you how proud we are of the swimming achievements of two of our Year 10 students - Megan and Holly Richards.

They are currently ranked 22nd/26th for 100fly in Great Britain, 22nd/28th in the 200fly and 37th/42nd in 50fly.

This has taken a huge dedication from both girls - training four hours every day - while maintaining brilliant effort and attendance in schools.

We wish them every success as they seek qualification for the Nationals in July / August.

*** Update 10/05/2016 ***

This is an update on Holly's 50 fly after competing at regionals last week, she is now ranked 14th in Britain for the 16 year olds with one more swim meet to go. Megan didn't swim at her best in the 50 fly at regionals as she had just recovered from being ill but is training hard for the last swim meet to qualify for nationals. Megan is ranked 28th and Holly 30th in 100 fly and Megan 25th and Holly 32nd in the 200 fly. The top 44 in the 16 year olds qualify for nationals.

*** Update 22/06/16 ***

An update on the girls swimming qualifications for the upcoming Nationals.

Holly:  British Nationals 50fly  16th in Britain for 16 year olds

Summer Nationals 100fly 30th in Britain for 16 year olds

They are really excited about this and they are training really hard.
